Introducing the first Matlock Tapes Extra - "Away with the Birds". There are literally hundreds of recordings in the Matlock archive, and not all of them are suitable for conversion into a full episode of the Matlock Tapes. It would be a shame not to share these, so we've created this strand within the podcast for unedited, raw material, direct and unaltered. No music, no sound effects, just the voice of Professor Matlock.Listen to him as he tells you one of his stories.Whether it's 'All True', or not, we'll leave you to decide.... (If you suffer from Ornithophobia you may want to give this one a miss...) Introduced by Giles Cosgrove.

Host Giles Cosgrove opens the vaults and presents "The Beast From Space" - a chilling account of the strange and horrifying events that took place in Somerset in 1971. What links a sleepy English coastal village with a NASA test flight? And what is the raging beast that strikes in the night? The Matlock Tapes might hold the answer, but ultimately... that is for you to decide! A Hammer Horror-style audiodrama through the lens of 'found footage'! (This podcast contains some description of supernatural violence) Presented by Giles Cosgrove With musical themes by Mister Brown Written and produced by James Baxter if you'd like to hear more, please like, comment, subscribe, share... and follow the Matlock Tapes on Twitter

Is this thing on? I hope that you can hear me. What I have to say must go on record somewhere. Before it's lost forever. I am Professor Wilbur Matlock and my intention is to record my thoughts and experiences to these tapes - to document them as fully as I am able, so that in the event of my death or a cover up by forces unknown, at least some of what I have learned may survive. The stories you are about to hear are improbable, you may even find them ridiculous, but please believe me when I tell you that they are ALL TRUE...!
